The 16th Annual Ortega Run

The Ortega run has become one of the signature events for the Southwest Region of the Ferrari Club of America for 15 years. The "Run" takes club members through some of Southern California's most scenic territory and was one of Phil Hill's favorite routes for driver's events. The destination has always been a winery in Temecula.

This year, the event organizers have developed a slightly different and more scenic route. More importantly, the destination has been changed to the Ponte Vineyard Inn. Reminiscent of Tuscany, the Inn has been ranked as one of the top-ten small vineyard hotels in the world by American Express. Located in part of its own vineyard, the Inn offers an elegant and romantic setting for participants.

The event will begin as usual in San Juan Capistrano and proceed through the Ortega Highway and enter Temecula from the east through Bundy Canyon. The route will again provide some of Southern California's most picturesque backcountry roads. On arrival, participants will be directed to Ferrari-only parking and to the dining area where a gourmet quality Italian buffet will be served. There will be a no-host bar in the dining area.

As an added benefit, the management of the Inn is offering special room rates for those who wish to spend the evening in. So if you live far away and don't want to fight the late afternoon traffic home, just reserve yourself a room by directly contacting the Ponte Inn for your preferred FCA rate and take a traffic free ride home on Sunday morning! But this year's most exciting feature is a raffle for all the early signups (before Feb. 16th). The lucky winner will receive a bottle of Ponte's finest wine, related gift items, and a one-night stay at the Ponte Vineyard Inn a combined $450.00 value!
